Charitable Wing Surgery

Shree eye hospital and its strong team believe in contributing to society wellness even at grass root level. In our endeavour to reach everyone. We have a separate charitable wing operating from second floor of Shree Eye Hospital.

The patients are seen on every Friday between 1PM – 2PM at very nominal fee with prior appointment only.

The consultation and surgery charges are affordable for all sections of society.

Cataract Surgery

A cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of your eye. For people who have cataracts, seeing through cloudy lenses is a bit like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window. Clouded vision caused by cataracts can make it more difficult to read or drive a car (especially at night).

Most cataracts develop slowly and don't disturb your eyesight early on. But with time, cataracts will eventually interfere with your vision. At first, stronger lighting and eyeglasses can help you deal with cataracts. But if impaired vision interferes with your usual activities, you might need cataract surgery. Fortunately, cataract surgery is generally a safe, effective procedure.

Lasik Eye Surgery

Lasik eye surgery is the best known and most commonly performed laser refractive surgery to correct vision problems. Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) can be an alternative to glasses or contact lenses.

During LASIK surgery, a special type of cutting laser is used to precisely change the shape of the dome-shaped clear tissue at the front of your eye (cornea) to improve vision.

In eyes with normal vision, the cornea bends (refracts) light precisely onto the retina at the back of the eye. But with near-sightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) or astigmatism, the light is bent incorrectly, resulting in blurred vision.

Glasses or contact lenses can correct vision, but reshaping the cornea itself also will provide the necessary refraction.

Glaucoma Treatment

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, the health of which is vital for good vision. This damage is often caused by an abnormally high pressure in your eye.

Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness for people over the age of 60. It can occur at any age but is more common in older adults. Many forms of glaucoma have no warning signs. The effect is so gradual that you may not notice a change in vision until the condition is at an advanced stage.

Because vision loss due to glaucoma can't be recovered, it's important to have regular eye exams that include measurements of your eye pressure so a diagnosis can be made in its early stages and treated appropriately. If glaucoma is recognized early, vision loss can be slowed or prevented. If you have the condition, you'll generally need treatment for the rest of your life.

Diabetes Eye Care

People who have diabetes can have an eye disease called diabetic retinopathy. This is when high blood sugar levels cause damage to blood vessels in the retina. It may be surprising, but often it’s the ophthalmologist who diagnoses diabetes.During a dilated eye exam the blood vessels of the retina can be seen in detail and reveal much about the health of the body in general. Because diabetes affects the vascular system, it has a profound effect on the retina, the most vascular area of the body. Thus, it is required to consult with an Eye Doctor or Surgeon. We Shree Eye Hospital provides complete Diabetic Eye Checkup.

Retina Surgery

Retinal diseases vary widely, but most of them cause visual symptoms. Retinal diseases can affect any part of your retina, a thin layer of tissue on the inside back wall of your eye. The retina contains millions of light-sensitive cells (rods and cones) and other nerve cells that receive and organize visual information. Your retina sends this information to your brain through your optic nerve, enabling you to see. Treatment is available for some retinal diseases. Depending on your condition, treatment goals may be to stop or slow the disease and preserve, improve or restore your vision. Untreated, some retinal diseases can cause severe vision loss or blindness.

Corneal Surgery

The cornea is a clear tissue at the front and center of the eye. It is transparent and permits light to pass into the eye through the pupil. The curvature of the cornea plays an important role in focusing of light. The normal cornea is smooth, clear, and tough. It protects the eye from infection

Corneal problems range from minor inflammation to major problems known as corneal dystrophies and conditions created by herpes. Some treatments involve laser surgeries and corneal transplants. We have the entire range of technical facilities and medical/surgical expertise to treat all corneal problems.

Paediatric Eye Care

It has been estimated that children obtain about 80% of their information about the world through the sense of vision. For successful learning it is therefore essential that every child achieves the best vision of which he/she is capable. There is growing evidence of the detrimental impact on educational achievement in cases of uncorrected eye problems. The principal reason for providing eye check-ups for young children is to identify those whose visual development is not following normal patterns, those who require correction, or who have, or are at risk of, developing problems.

We recommend check-ups at birth and if all is normal, once a year thereafter.Any parental concerns regarding the child’s vision, ocular health or general development are also taken into account during our regular check-ups. We have the facility and expertise to treat all paediatric eye problems.

Squint and Oculoplasty Clinic

Squint, medically known as strabismus, usually occurs in childhood, though some adults may also develop it, or a childhood squint may become more obvious in adulthood.

Shree Eye Hospital is well-equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities for examining and treating children eye related disorders.
